ACHIEVEMENT/SIGNIFICANCE OF 1946 CONSTITUTION

  1. Brought together the North and South administratively, thereby promoting national unity.
  2. It greater participation to Nigerians for the first time to have majority of non-official.
  3. It promotes nationalist activities.
  4. Divided Nigeria three regions – North, West and East.
  5. Encouraged the membership of Nigerians into the executive council for the first time.
  6. The constitution laid the foundation for a full-blown federal structure in 1954.
