WEAKNESS/DEMERITS OF 1946 CONSTITUTION

1. Was imposed on Nigeria by the British.
2. The whites still dominated the executive council.
3. The Nigerian non-official majority in the legislative council were not elected but nominated.
4. The external control of the British parliament still remained.
5. The governor wielded wider powers. 

NOTE: The above points still serve as the nationalists criticism against the 1946 Richards constitution.
