Opportunity to Defend Oneself (self Defense)

Opportunity to defend oneself in civic education can simply be defined as the lawful or legal means at one’s disposal to defend himself.

It is the chance, privilege and/or right of someone to defend himself, property business etc lawfully or legally (i.e. within the ambit of the law).

It is primarily concerned with the lawful act of protecting one’s own interest, property, ideas etc within the ambit of the law.

INSTANCES OF HOW ONE CAN DEFEND HIMSELF LAWFULLY ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. Report to Police.
2. Report to the Community Head or Traditional Ruler.
3. Report to Constituted Authority.
4. Going to court.
