MEANING OF COMMUNITY SERVICES:
Community services are social welfare and volunteer work, organized and executed for the common good of the community.
It can also mean the various community works carried out by individual persons or groups of persons in a community with the intention of helping members of the community in a particular area.
Community service could also mean actions carried out by members of a community which benefit the community itself. Such actions could be clearing of road paths, recreation centre, market place or park etc.
GETTING INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY SERVICES
Involvement in Community Services could be seen as an act of selflessness, or an act of civic engagement which is intended to help advance the course of the community in various areas of human endeavour.
It is selfless work performed to help the people in a particular area(s). Involvements in Community Services are usually voluntary in some cases. It is a service carried out by someone or a group of people for the benefit of the public or its institutions.
Conversely, involvement in community service may not, in most cases, be the same as volunteering because it is not always performed or carried out on a voluntary basis.
