What is an Electrolyte

Electrolyte is a substance that conducts electricity in an aqueous or molten state and is decomposed by it.

We have strong and weak electrolytes.

Strong electrolytes – it ionizes completely in solution to release its ions for conduction.

E.g, H2SO4, CaCL2, and other ionic compounds.

Weak electrolytes– they ionize partially in solution e.g are weak acids and bases

Eg, CH3 COOH2 NH4 OH etc.
