Before the year 2007, many other political parties were formed which made the number about thirty.
As a result in May 2007, a general election was conducted and Alhaji Umar’ Musa Yara’dua emerged the winner under the platform of the PDP.
Thus, Goodluck Jonathan became the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. After the death of Alhaji Umar’ Musa Yara’dua in the year 2019, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This position remained until May 29, 2015, when he handed over to the winner of the next General elections, President Mohamadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress.
