This is one of the UNO’s specialized agencies established in 1965 with its administrative headquarters in Rome.
FAO’s main objectives are:
- To offer advice to countries of the world on the techniques of agriculture, fishery, and forestry.
- To help secure higher nutritional standards throughout the world.
- To conserve natural resources.
- To improve agricultural production, processing, marketing and distribution.
- To improve the systems of land tenure and provision of credit to agriculture.
