CONSEQUENCES OF THE GREAT TREK

  1. On the course of the Trek, some powerful kingdoms in Africa were defeated and taken over by the Boers.
  2. It increased the conflict areas in South Africa between the African communities and the Boers.
  3. It led to the rise of Orange Free State, Natal, and Transvaal which were all Boer republics.
  4. Africans in South Africa suffered the loss of territory because of white settlement.
  5. It laid the foundation for the Apartheid policy.
