However, other factors responsible are:
a) Loss of economic wealth and political instability.
b) Lack of cooperative attitude of the Kakanfo.
c) The central government was very weak.
d) The vassal states like Dahomy and Egba revolted frequently.
e) The abolishment of slave trade etc.
