These are the type of drugs that when ingested, alters the action of the body systems, thus, causing a high feeling. Examples of such drugs are cocaine, heroin, marijuana etc. Many of these types of drugs are legally prohibited by most countries of the world.
Hard drugs can be abused in any of the following ways:
i. When taken illegally;
ii. When taken excessively in order to feel high its effect can be very dangerous;
iii. By indiscriminate use (for non-medical purposes) by way of sniffing, inhaling or swallowing as pills.
