Like the people of Ukwuani, Urhobo and Ijaw, the Isoko inhabitants occupied the western Delta province of Nigeria.
Covered by swamp, the land is suitable for agriculture and cultivation of palm produce in particular. Fishing activities were also carried out in Isoko.
However, some clans like Iyede, Emevo, Owhe, Emede, Aviara, Uzere and Okpe Ozoro claimed to have migrated from Bini, while clans like Enwhe, Igbide and Umeh refuted the claim.
