This is a book where we record all credit sales. Here, It contains the following information:
(i) the names of the person who received the goods
(ii) The type and quantity of goods sold on credit
(iii) The cost of goods sold on credit
(iv) The trade discount (if any)
(v) The net amount of the credit sales.
(vi) The total amount involved, that is, the amount of credit sales to be credited in the sales accountÂ
Note that the total sales on credit will be credited to the sales account and debited to debtors account in the general ledger.
