RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PEER GROUPS

The term peer group refers to an individual’s small, relatively intimate group of peers who interact on a regular basis (often referred to as a clique).

Peer groups consist of individuals who share friendships, hang around and talk to each other as well as do activities together.

As children develop into adolescents, they spend an increasing amount of time with their peers compared to their parents or other adults. The nature of peer groups also changes during adolescence.
