THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL: For administrative convenience of the Colonies, some official such a legislative and executive councils assisted the Governor. TH executive council was just an advisory body to the Governor on administrative matters. The Governor was not bound by their advice; he can override the council’s advice subject to notification of the Colonial office in London through the secretary of States for the Colonies.
