Chemical Properties of Sulphur

It combines with metals at high temperature and in absence of air to form sulphides.
Fe(s) + S(s) → FeS(s)

It burns in oxygen to form sulphur (iv) oxide.
S(s) + O2(g) →  SO2(g)
