Chemical Properties Of HNO3

1. Neutralizaion-
HNO3(aq) + NaOH(aq)  →    NaOH3(aq) + H2O(L)

2. It reacts with trioxonitrate (iv)
2HNO3(aq) + CaCO3(s)  →   Ca(NO3)2(aq) + H2O(L)+ CO2(g)

3. It reacts with highly electropositive metals to form trioxonitrate
Mg(s) + 2HNO3(aq)   →    Mg(NO3)2(aq)+H2(g)

It is a powerful oxidizing agent.
