Cabinet System of Government: A system where executive power is shared among ministers led by a Prime Minister, who must maintain parliament’s support. Also called parliamentary system. The executive and legislature work together, and ministers are usually members of parliament.
Exam Success Tip: When WAEC asks you to “explain” advantages, don’t just list them. Show HOW each advantage helps the country. Use Nigerian First Republic examples to score extra marks. Remember that Nigeria abandoned cabinet system in 1966 due to its disadvantages, so be ready to discuss both sides.
