Types of Mass Movements

Mass Movement is of different types and they are:

  1. Falls – is an extremely rapid mass movement of rocks.
  2. Slides – are the rapid of large masses of material with little or no flow of the weathered materials at the early stages of the sliding. Slides are subdivided into landslide, rockslide, rock slump.
  3. Creep – Soil creep is the slow and 1own slope movement of soil and debris under the influence of gravity.
  4. Rock falls – This happens mostly in mountainous areas.
