THE URHOBO — History Keypoint

THE URHOBO

The Urhobo people are located in the upper part of the Western Delta province. The tradition of the origin of the five clans of Urhobo was traced to the Ijaw of the Western Delta province.

Thus, the clans in question were Ughelli, Agbaro, Ogo, Ogele, Ewu and Ughienvwe.

However, other clans like Uwherun, Utuo, Mototo, Abraka, Aghon, Orogun and Olomu were linked to Bini.

In addition, there was the claim that the Evweral people were of Igbo origin.
