NON-ALIGNMENT: Is the determination of a state to be positively neutral order to have an independent stand on major issues at international conferences. Non-alignment can also mean the refusal of a state to commit its military capabilities and sometimes its diplomatic support for the purpose of another state.
This policy came into being in 1961 during the ideological rivalries between the socialist bloc led by the defunct Soviet Union and the capitalist bloc of united states of America and her European allies.
