Lumbering is the felling of selected economic trees for domestic, industrial and commercial purpose.
Usually, when these trees are felled, they are transported from the forest areas to the Sawmill where the logs are cut into planks.
Such trees felled are Iroko, Obeche, Mahogany Ebony and Sapele.

Lumbering is practiced mostly in Edo, Cross Rivep Rivep Delta, Ogun, Ondo States etc.
