Hydrocarbon is an organic compound, which is made up of two elements-carbon and hydrogen.
It has two main classes -Alliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.
Alliphatic can be acyclic –i.e. it has straight or branch chains or cyclic – i.e the carbon atoms join together to form a ring.
Aromatic ones are all cyclic which are based on benzene ring.
