  1. Leads to influx of people to the urban cities thereby causing high cost of living.
  2. Increases unemployment problems.
  3. Increase social vices like armed robbery in the urban cities.
  4. Causes depopulation of rural areas.
  5. Causes inflation in urban areas.
  6. Leads to a fall in the output of the rural areas.

Note that migration is divided into: rural-rural, rural-urban, urban – urban, and urban-rural.
