Some legal duties and obligations which the citizens owe the government of Nigeria of their country are:-
- Obedience to the laws of the state.
- Loyalty to the country and its symbols.
- Payment of taxes and rates.
- Defending the territorial integrity of the country.
- Respect for National Anthem.
- Respect, for Head of state.
- Respect for chief executives and judges.
- Reporting criminals to the police.
- Service to the nation e.g. the NYSC.
