Rural settlement

This is the type of settlement where people live in villages, and in which the population is usually less than 10,000 people. The inhabitants in this type of settlement are mainly farmers.

This type of settlement is further sub-divided into: village settlement and dispersed settlement.

Urban Settlement

This is another type of settlement where people live in townships and/or cities that are developed with basic necessities of life, and in which the population of the area is usually above 10,000 people.

The inhabitants of the area are mainly into secondary and tertiary activities like trading, commerce, manufacturing, banking etc. This is also sub-divided into city settlement and town settlement.
