Chemical Properties of N2O

It is decomposed at red – heat into Nitrogen and oxygen but does not in air.

2N2O(g) →  2N(g) + O2(g)

It is reduced by heated metal:-

Fe(s) + N2O(g) →  N2(g) + FeO(s)
